Calzaghe's a completely different fighter now than he was 5 years ago, forget 10 years ago.

This fight wouldn't have even been close if the ref had done his job properly, Hopkins did what he had to do but Calzaghe beat Hopkins at his OWN game.

Imagine if the ref did his job properly, Bernard would have had points deducted no doubt, but Calzaghe would have been able to actually BOX, and Hopkins wouldn't have had a chance.

I'm sorry, but Hopkins of old wouldn't have beat the Calzaghe of 3-4 years ago.

Prime Hopkins, the win would've been more emphatic. The only thing that stopped it being a more convincing defeat was the fact that Hopkins danced away in cirlces all night.

Both a prime Cal and a Prime B-Hop fought very differently. I would have Cal winning a close Dec realy close possibly a draw. A prime Hop was more active therefore more openings Calzaghe was a BIG puncher back then. Didn't really slap at all. He threw constant Bombs fast.

Prime Hopkins wasn't this careful, Joe beats any version of Popkins.

Prime Calzaghe or a 36yo Calzaghe?

Hopkins PRIME fought so any Calzaghe beats Hopkins.

B-hop's game plan after getting the KD on Joe was to fight defensively. He was too tough to crack but Joe managed to.
You think a PRIME hopkins would have laid back after that first round KD? He probably would have stopped him right there. But the chances of him scoring a first round KD if they fight again are little to none.

I wouldn't go far as being whooped but I think Hopkins would win. It would be close though.

Hopkins was always a calculating. inside dirty fighter, with a few brilliant boxing clinics such as the Trinidad fight. More often than not the Hopkins we saw tonight was the Hopkins in his prime.
