Well, he definitely missed many punches, and most of his landed punches weren't that significant. That has a lot to do with Hopkins though. So many shots just glanced away, and while Joe was getting REALLY sloppy he was countered badly.
And then you look at the fact that his punches already lack power and snap.

This is one of the main things why this fight was much closer than most people think.
