If you can't respect a 43 year old operating at that level there is something wrong with you. He tried every trick and it was nearly enough, Joe didn't treat him with enough respect and nearly paid the price.
I agree... he brings out the worse days out of his opponents, dead or alive.. can't imagine hagler, leonard, or robinson would look good against him...
I'm amazed Calzaghe don't get disqualified for slapping in every fight.
When that is said, it's impressive of him to beat Hopkins.
Hopkins is still the man though. A little younger and Calzaghe would have been toast. Anyone have the balls to argue otherwise?
I don't know, he was effective by avoiding a fight, younger and more aggressive and he would have been caught more himself?? Who knows, I respect the man whatever.
