On a related note, regardless of who you thought one, did anyone find this fight somewhat exciting? It was no Vasquez/Marquez, but it was alot better than Hopkins/Wright, I thought. Knockdown, activity, animosity, drama - I enjoyed it.

I can't honestly say I enjoyed it because neither guy cared about anything but winning (sounds weird, I know), and that made for a fugly result. Hopkins was locked into his defensive shell, and all Calzaghe would do was throw a lead and collapse in and follow up with a bunch of rabbit punches and back shots. It was embarrassing as a Boxing fan. Fights like this hurt the sport.

Both men were smothering each other anytime the other started punching. Even my prissy girlfriend was talking about how "they look gay doing all that hugging" - and she has watched dozens of fights because of me, and never said anything like that. This fight looked really ****ing ***** I think..

Can you imagine someone rolling this one out a decade or 25 years from now? They'll be sorely disappointed at the lack of guts, lack of technique, and lack of entertainment value demonstrated between these two "legends." Who could blame them for thinking less of this entire era?

I found it good to watch from a technical standpoint, not very exciting though.

HaHA.. What do you mean though? I know your guy won but technically that was one of the worst fights in Boxing history. The only guy to showcase any technical ability at all really was Bernard Hopkins. Is that what you mean?

Both of them were showing good technical skill in there, it was interesting to watch what either of them were trying to do to negate each other. Let me put it this way, it was an interesting fight, not an entertaining fight.

The adjustments he made were interesting to watch and shows good technical skills IMO.

                      Hmm..

Tell me about these "adjustments" you derived so much pleasure from.
