On November 13th, 2004, Andrew Golota gets his second shot at heavyweight gold in 2004 as he faces WBA heavyweight champion John "Quiet Man" Ruiz. The entire arena will be on the side of Andrew Golota as they want to see John Ruiz, one of the most disliked heavyweights in the history of the game, dethroned.
This will be the ultimate test for Golota, a man who has snapped under pressure several times in the past. If he can keep his cool with the hug and tug style of Ruiz and box at a distance, we may see a new champion. If Andrew lets the bout turn into a hug fest, we could see another boring replay of the John Ruiz-Fres Oquendo bout which took place this past April.
If Golota wins, he could very well be in line for a future mega showdown with WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko (should he beat Williams), in early to mid 2005. [details]
