Round by round of Diaconu vs Henry (rounds 10, 11, 12)

    Round 10

Both fighters start throwing at the centre of the ring, nothing clean is landing by either of them for the first minute of the fight. Referee stops the fight at 2:00 I am assuming smb's glove got untaped. Transmission gets cut off.

Can't score the fight without seeing the other 2/3ds. For the minute it was a draw.

    Round 11

Diacony is tired, his punches no longer have their usual snap. It's a rough fight but this is the only way Chris Henry can fight. Henry pushes Diaconu down. Henry lands two vicious looping right hands while Diaconu is on the ropes. Diaconu takes them well but he never did catch his second breath. Diaconu is holding on, Diaconu is using his feet, Diaconu is dead tired. Henry ladns a huge, lead right uppercut to finish the round.

    Henry's round
    Round 12

Both fighters are throwing sloppy punches, lots of clinching initiated mostly by Diaconu. Henry is busier. Diaconu is simply trying to get to the end of the fight cause his gas tank is empty. Boom, Diaconu lands his patented left hook upstairs. Diaconu lands a three punch combo. Chris Henry pushes Diaconu through the ropes out of the ring. He comes back and they exchange sloppily. Henry mauls in the last half minute.

    Impressions:

I thought Henry won the 5th and 8th round. Round 10 I couldn't score. Henry won round 11 and 12. So if we give Henry the benefit of doubt and give him the tenth round, he's won 5 rounds in that fight.

I thought Diaconu had too much skill and speed for Henry. Henry was incredibly tough though eating leather to the head and body and coming for some extra. By the late rounds, Diaconu had abondened his jab, which only made it easier for henry to go on the inside with his forehead low and use his muy thai clinch combined with some clean punching. Diaconu was gassed and Henry was in an amazing shape. Props to both of them. Diaconu survived the latter part of the fight, Henry on the other hand showed a great physical and mental strenght despite not having much speed.

This fight was much closer than the heavily favored Diaconu judges scored it. Henry was in better shape, threw more punches, and also landed more punches. I believe that Diaconu was knocked down in the 12th when he fell threw the ropes but the referee said it was a slip somehow. I give props to both fighters but believe that if the fight was not in Romania then it might have been a different outcome. I am curious to see if Henry and Johnson hook up now that Dawson and Diaconu are more than likely to meet.

Diaconu was not knocked down, don't listen to Henry's cornermen. But yeah Henry made it much closer at the end.

I watched the fight. Henry clearly lost the 8th. He almost got knocked out. The judges scored it 10-8 for Diaconu! What fight were you watching??? However, I felt Henry won the fight. He won the 1st, 5th, 7th, 9th, 11th and 12th. A draw right...No! Diaconu sat on the ropes and fell through them from an accumilation of punches, and/or fatigue. It was just like taking a knee. 10-8 round for Henry! Worst case...a draw!
