A quick glimpse into small town club fights

Nice post. Very different seeing these ordinary people slugging it out. The absence of the bright lights and glittering adornments of big-time boxing really brings home how brutal boxing actually is.
Also, when you hear them talking about their records, you realise that if any of them were to keep winning (not likely), they might find themselves in the bright lights sooner than they think.
I don't think there can be another sport with such disparate poles which are nontheless so close together.

this is boxing at its core...
no fancy lights; no michael buffer; no fancy commentators; etc.
just two guys; one ring...like the old days.
nice to see boxing at its core sometimes.Comment

The thing that surprises me most is that the ratio of guys who trains vs guys who don't is about 1 to 9.
( I hope I wrote that correctly, 1 guy trains, 9 guys don't, all pick up a check)
A lot of tough guys involved, but if you're tough for 60 seconds and then you're out of gas.... Well, I guess you become a KO victim and it's your own fault due to lack of work ethic.Comment

Good stuff for sure. I love the local shows.
I was trying to help this dude that wanted to do a tuff man competition. I swear the guy hit like a freaking train but had no heart whats so ever. You try and push him to the limit in training and he'd just stop and walk away to get some water or just drop on the floor like a *****. I guess its just hard for people to overcome their own weakness.Comment
