    Mayweathers Technical Pad Work

I been thinking and is it better to do technical padwork like mayweather. I mean pads IS to work on technique and combinations, etc, but not power. So is it better to do Mayweather sort of ****?

the way floyd does it is to get muscle memory, hand eye coordination and reflexes. So the he does it is better.

Anything Mayweather does you should follow. He is the p4p best, and any of his tactics would work in a real time situation. He would destroy you.

it is better to do it like him, because when i fought actively, i had a continuous padwork routine like floyd has now, and it dos work on your hand/eye coordination and my defense like my blocking and dodging punches, and it also helps you enhance you punching on the move. it's funny, my uncle used the padwork routine that worked on my combinations and when i frist saw mayweather training like that, i always tried to upstage him with my routine, i still say mine was much better.lol. anyway, it's amazing how he does that, because although it's a repeated pattern, the headmovement, and blocking timing is just brilliant to watch even as a fighter myself. i mean, it really does help, and his jump rope routine is the best in boxing, bar none. floyd has the whole package in training and in fighting, he's the real deal, greatest of his era.

try this routine that floyd does. have your trainer throw a jab at you and you move your upperbody back and counterpunch it, and have him do it again right after you counter and move back again and throw a counter right or left hand followed immediately by a right or left hook and a right or left hook again, depending on which hand you are, i don't mean to confuse you, but try it out and perfect it, trust me, you'll be amazed with it, it's simple and it works, combinations feed off of this.

it's a great technique, but not the sole technique he applies. it would not hurt you at all, thats for sure.

Thanks for the advice guys! Also, Zab Judah gets his coach to throw punches and he blocks them, si that routine or just reflex as his trainer throws random?

WHat works for others may not work for you. Try it all and see what you prefer.

Doing what Mayweather does will not get you far. He has different skillsets than you, so everyone needs to find their own way of training.
