    Hopkins vs Calzaghe...On The Record

A lot of people are talking smack on both sides. This fight, which may not have captured the complete mainstream attention, is the biggest fight imo in the last 10 years or so. Calzaghe, unbeaten, 21 or so title defenses, cleaned out 168 for years. Hopkins, only soundly beaten once, by RJJ 15 years ago. His first loss fresh out of prison at 175 and not in good shape. It's finally almost here. Time to put your name on your choice.

Personally, I feel Hopkins is going to dominate and win a clear UD over Calzaghe. Kessler has never fought anybody of note, and Lacy was LARGELY overrated due to everyone wanting another Tyson. Technically he's worse then the Tyson who fought Danny Williams. Calzaghe normally has a high outpunch, but already said he plans to cut it in half and punch with more power in this fight. Keep it at a distance and box soundly with flurry onslaughts. Problem is, nobody can ever fire at Hopkins much less hit him like they do with everyone else.

His defense is something Calzaghe has never faced, nor is his experience and technical skill. Calzaghe has been dropped in the past, by right hands, and he keeps his hands at his knees often during a fight. On top of that, people can spin it however they want, look at Calzaghe's face as Hopkins mocks how short he is at the final presser. The media is laughing and Calzaghe is pissed, looking like he's ready to hit Hopkins right there. On top of that, he's been talking **** non stop all week and you can tell he really wants to hurt Bernard.

I say Hopkins checkmates him and exposes the fact that Kessler and Lacy are C and B names respectively. Hopkins has faced Taylor, Tarver and Winky in his last 4 fights. Big difference. Not to mention size and strength. Hopkins is clearly taller and thicker.

    Hopkins wins easy. Remember that.

****** thread, calzaghe will win and they are both out of their primes. there have been bigger fights in the last 10 years such as trinidad vs dlh, mayweather vs hatton, etc. and they were all in their prime

Mayweather vs Hatton?? Is that a joke?? Who the hell thought Hatton stood a chance other then dumb brit lovers??

Lewis shut your mouth. Paul Williams lack of an amateur career surfaced in ONE fight, he will mop the floor with Quintana and dominated Margarito, how did Margarito do vs Cintron?? What about after Margarito knocks out Cotto?? Then what?? Paul comes along again and schools him. Wow. Interesting.

Homeboy...no need to get hostile... Cut the bull**** and lighten the **** up...I was just messing with ya..HELL, I lost points and money on Williams....You just talked all this **** about how Williams is going to run the WW division and BAM...He got the brakes beat off his ass. I'm betting on him this time..He needs to use his size and work off his jab instead of trying to brawl.

Who else? Americans. Plenty of them were rooting for Hatton, and plenty of pro boxers gave him a chance to win, as did plenty of pro sports writers.

            Does that answer the question?

As the saying goes, it's easy to be a genius after the fight.
