Analyze the footage OBJECTIVELY...Then ask yourself....Did the barrage of punches signify Stoppage? Sure Joe threw a whole lot of punches but few of them actually connected

Ask yourself: did Manfredo EVER have a chance against Calzaghe? I shouldn't even need to ask that. The answer is no ****ing way did he have a chance. Stop trying to make Joe Calzaghe look bad. Your problem is with the referee.
You cannot just stand there and not throw punches. Simple.Last edited by FRKO; 04-18-2008, 11:51 AM. -
The point i'm trying to make has nothing to do with Manfredo. i'm just trying to show you how ineffective the "1000 punch" Slaplzaghe will be against Hopkins. He will have to throw with a hell-of-alot more power than that to even get Hopkins attentionComment

I think that the (very short) Brewer fight is a better indication of what slaps can do.Comment

Brewer-Calzaghe was a WAR. Brewer was no pushover, screw the resume.
Joe throws flurries, whether they land or not, to confuse the opponent. Mixed in with those flurries are harder shots that connect at unexpected places while the opponent is defending against the flurry which is focused usually on his head.Comment

Some flurries and volume are often misinterpreted by the judges. why/how do you think many fighters are able to STEAL rounds. Calzaghe looks impressive but is he effective against a True Proven fighter....and please do not use Kessler as a measuring tool.Brewer-Calzaghe was a WAR. Brewer was no pushover, screw the resume.
