Speaking of heavyweight fights that don't belong on PPV, here's what Golata had to say about Ruiz. From maxboxing:
"John Ruiz is a different fighter (than Byrd)," he said. "He's much stronger. I wish it was somebody else."
Why, Golota was asked.
"Too durable," he answered. "Too good of a fighter. If I could fight somebody less I would."
This is a bunch of crap. He knows he can outbox this guy, but he's ready to give up yet again. Golata was an incredible specimine in 1996, but his skills have eroded and he's not crazy anymore. Expect a non-effort against Ruiz.
