How does Jose Luis Castillo compate to today's pressure fighters?

I ask this because he is probably the best fighter on Floyd's resumé based on his accomplishment and the fact that he fought Floyd twice, while still in his prime.

I am thinking of Margarito and Cotto, and I know that Castillo's resumé right now is so much better than theirs but he was lucky to have fought the opponents that he did and 2 there is still time for both Tony and Cotto to fight a few more solid fighters.

What are the similarities and differences among these three fighters?

As far as comparing him to Margarito, Cotto, Hatton.......

Inside defense - Castillo is probably the best defensive out of them. I think he had better movement and was slicker inside than them.

Speed - He doesn't have the speed of Hatton or Cotto but he was faster than Margarito.

Chin - He probably has as good a chin as Margarito and better than Hatton or Cotto.

Power - Punch for punch he was probably less powerful than Cotto but as powerful as Margarito. I'm not sure how I would compare his power to Hatton's p4p probably a little better.

I'd disagree witht that one as I have vivid memories of Castillo being hit again and again by Chico Corrales, better than Tony's, probably but not Cotto's.

I think what's underrated about Castillo is his outside game. Against Chico for example he seemed better on the outside and obviously his timing was great as well.

Oscar DelaHoya>Jose Luis Castillio, so being the best on his resume is not true. JLC fought a great fight but you also have to remember Floyd was hurt so dont take too much from that fight, and think pressure is the key to beating Floyd. I think fighters like Ricky Hatton and Oscar Delahoya fell into that same trap.I remember thinking JLC won as well, but when healthy Floyd beat him pretty easily. No one style is going to beat Floyd, not pressure, not a slick boxer, not pure power, its going to be someone who can do it all which is why Oscar still has a good shot at beating him in September, and why Cotto has a realistic shot as he continues to improve.

Your almost right but I think the Castillo win was better for Floyd cuz Castillo was in his prime while Oscar wasnt. While Oscar wasnt as washed up as people claim, he wasnt at his peak while Castillo pretty much was.
