No, it is an art form because it is an expression of who you are.

What Cory Spinks does is considered the ''art form'' but what guys like Gatti and Miranda did arent.

Its an art form for some, for some it is brute power and strength while for others it is sheer will and a bit of luck.

I know you agreed, but the premise that you agreed upon is wrong. The fact that not any ******* can come in and do it makes it a skill, not an art. Any ******* can do finger paintings. It's still art.

What makes it art is that it is a form of expression.

Definitely an art form. Skill, technique, and talent are required to rise to the top.

This post should just be repeated until everyone gets the message.

It would probably take awhile, seeing as there are some americans and british people on this board...

I agree;boxing is only an "art" in the sense that it is a skill, in the sense that the word "art" is sometimes used as a synonym for "skill".

Art in the main sense is a product of creative expression...and boxing isn't.

What are you saying when you deftly avoid a punch, or shrewdly deliver one? Nothing, there is no message there besides "I'm good at this, and I want to win".

It's majestic, exciting, and can be practiced with incredible skill; but its not art in the sense that literature, film, painting etc is.
