Boxing's Worst Performances On The Big Stage

And I don't just mean poor results. Which fights do you personally feel were underperformed, poorly perfomed, by a given fighter? This would be something more like choking, having a bad night, ect.

An example of this would be the night Ricky Hatton fought Floyd Mayweather. Not only was Ricky in deep water, but he didn't give us a fraction of what he's normally capable of. No fire, no passion, ect.

Now, this isn't about diminishing the accomplisments of great men, this is about understanding the multi-dimensional complexity of life and sport.

Are you trying to make this a Zab Judah and Andrew Golota thread?
    Or maybe a Tyson thread?

    LOL

That's up to the individual, but personally I would favor uncharacteristically bad performances. Those are good references though, any particular fights you would like to mention? Lots of members come here to enhance their knowledge of the sport.

Shane Mosley vs. Vernon Forrest II
Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs. Jose Luis Castillo I
Jeff Lacy vs. Peter Manfredo Jr.
              Allan Green vs. Edison Miranda
Oliver McCall vs. Lennox Lewis II
Diego Corrales vs. Floyd Mayweather Jr.
Bernard Hopkins vs. Roy Jones Jr.
              Jermain Taylor vs. Cory Spinks
James Toney vs. Roy Jones Jr.

For starters. None of those guys showed what they were capable of in any of those fights.

There's a recent one. Excellent example.

Joe Frazier versus George Foreman really sticks out in my mind based on your criteria.

Joe fought everyone tough and Big George treated him like a red-headed step child.

                  Frankly, I was shocked.

                    Clinton Woods for sure.

                    He was ****.

No desire, no drive, no heart.

Clinton is a good fighter actually but he barely through a punch in anger. It made me feel sick.
