John Ruiz: "I'll Clean Up The Heavyweights"

Originally posted by slicksouthpaw16 View PostIt was more of Tua not training properly and not really having that desire for a title. It seemed as if he was just satisfied with being a contender because after the loss to Ibeabuchi, he had a low work ethic an came in out of shape. He was 240+ when he fought both Lewis and Byrd, peak Tua weighed around the early 200s or even less. If Tua came in shape for those fights, then he would have has a chance to actually beat those fighters. Chris Byrd would have probably beaten Tua anyway though, his chin and defense is too good and Tua was always behind on points when he would score his knockouts. I definitely agree with what you are saying though, no name fighters like Thompson and Austin are getting shots at titles and Tua isn't.

Ruiz's fights are lousy, that's why none of the top fighters want to face him.
The only fight Ruiz can make that will atract the public attention and will be a great fit at the moment is Ruiz vs Tua II, the rematch.
It makes sense for both, it will sell, it could be worth a mandatory status and it will retire the loser.

john ruiz nedds to be ceaned out not do the cleaning
john ruiz is the least entertaing fighter i have ever seen. he holds more then he throws and has little to none boxing skills. the only fight of his i was glad to watch was tua damn near killing him to less the a minute. i'll listen to what he has to say when he legitl puts on a decent performance against an elite heavyweight. not that he hasn't beat legit guys like rahman and holyfield(a washed up holyfield) but he's never done so in impressive fashion. I was ringside for ruiz rahman in atlantic city my hometown. and since it was on the undercard to a hopkins fight and it was so bad i spent my 45 minutes walking around boardwalk hall rather then watch that fight( if you want ot call it that). this guy lost to tua, holyfield(washed up at that), chagav, valov, and a washed up toney not to mention the unholy ass whippin roy put on him. in closing all i have to say is retire before you kill the sport for the real fans
