Thank GOD! I've been waiting for a charismatic, no holds-barred likable heavyweight to clean up this mess! Ruiz is the perfect guy!! Why didn't anyone think of this earlier??

First he has to fight Tua again, though.

seeing ruiz , rahman and maskaev all become champions makes me want to throw up.

how did these guys become multiple champions and get multiple shots at the title when the guy who knocked all 3 out only got 1 shot at the title? david tua got only 1 shot and it had to be against a prime top 10 atg like lennox lewis?

past prime tua knocked out fres oquendo and oquendo gets 2-3 shots at byrd and ruiz's titles!

too bad tua is washed up now.

i say he hugs tua for 9 rounds but gets caught with a lucky left hook in the 10th. the only thing ruiz will be cleaning up is his drool off the mat , even against a washed up tua.

More chance of an Ali comeback than this happening.

I always remember Ruiz said after being schooled by Roy that he doesn't consider Roys tactical aproach as "boxing".

Sure John, jabbing and hugging for 12 rounds is though.

i say muhammad ali wins by split decision over ruiz if he comes out of retirement.

laila ali knocks out john ruiz.

sadly enough, if Ruiz gets a shot at say...Peter...who also is promoted by Don King, so its very possible...I think Ruiz could beat him.

Ruiz also has a decent chance against Chagaev and Valuev too(whoever wins their rematch). Chagaev didnt have an easy time with Ruiz the first time around, and I thought Ruiz beat Valuev when they first fought. thankfully, I wouldnt favor Chagaev over Ruiz.

sad that Ruiz is past his prime and resorts to his huggy style to win fights. he used to be good...before the Holyfield fights. from Kirkland and on, he was the hugman we all know and love. but before that, he wasnt half bad! he had a powerful uppercut...
