Is Hopkins physically stronger than Kessler?

Steve Bunce is going on on Setanta sports that Hopkins will be the strongest opponent Calzaghe has ever fought.

    What's your thoughts?

    What about Jeff Lacy?

Eubank was big for a SMW as well, he fought well as a cruiserweight.

Kessler is physically stronger, but Bernard is superior in virtually every other department.

I can't see how a 43 year old man can be stronger than a prime Kessler.

Who has to be one of the biggest supper middleweights ever.

How the **** can you that much bigger than Joe and still a super middle. Considering Joe kills himself to make weight and looks skinny and on the verge of collapse at super middleweight weigh in's.

I'm guessing he wasn't talking about physical strength. Lacy looks like he could bench some serious weight.

In short; the experts thing Hopkins is stronger, the fans think Calzaghe is stronger. I also picked Joe in physical strength.

I see, he must mean that Hopkins is the strongest opponent Calzaghe has fought as of yet (as in the hardest, most difficult, best, most accomplished, whatever). That could be true but I'm not really sure.
We will see what Hopkins brings to the table on Saturday.

Calzaghe has fought some physically strong guys so strenght would not be a problem, especially with Cortez as the referee who does not allow any clinchwork at all.

Joe threw him around like a rag doll.
Sure did but we used to see Lacy bully other super middleweights until he fought Joe... Calzaghe has to be very strong with the way he handled Kessler and Lacy in the clinches.

Hard to say. I define physical strength as handling yourself in clinches, being able to push your opponent back and around. As well as punching power, although that's much less significant.

Hopkins has always been very strong and was really bullying some of his opponents. But it can be argued that many of them were naturally smaller men, therefor not as strong by nature.
