Naw, because Silva will be over with as P4P and Jones will likely be retired and the fight may be closer to even. Jones will destroy Silva and there should be no match. I do want to see Jones in the ring again as soon as possible and would take this if I had to.

If u ask me,it would be a smart move,i think Roy would KO Anderson Silva, hes UFC's biggest star right now,u know how much UFC fans would buy the PPV? even boxing fans, its a historical fight, the best UFC fighter against Roy Jones,it would be a huge sellout, and if Jones KOd him in brutal fashion,it would show the difference between a boxer and a MMA fighter,it would make Jones more popular, even with the UFC fans if anything

yes Roy doesnt have alot to gain from this.. But possibly more fans after he clowns the main man in the UFC right now.. Not to mention its just a HUGE spectacle waiting to happen. The best fighter in the UFC VS the pound for pound best boxer of the 90s! It would bring in a ridiculous amount of money because it would be all the boxing fans and UFC fans watching this..

Maybe Roy should allow Sylva to wear the four ounce gloves so it looks a little fairer. White is just scared Sylva is going to look like ****., I think this will happen Sylva will probably wait till his contract is up.

I got the feeling that by saying the fight could happen in 2009, Silva was alluding to a contract re-signing with the UFC that's to occur by then. Silva would definatly stand to make alot more money boxing RJJ then he could in any 1 MMA fight so forgoing an extension would probly make sense, as he can go cash a big check against Jones and then come back and test the MMA markets, which by then, who knows what state they'll be in. At that point, his value will have increased considerably in the wake of the publicity surrounding the RJJ fight, provided he can at least give a decent showing.

Or perhaps, the UFC management will realize all of this and let the fight go ahead.
