    Quillin Pounds Echols, Witherspoon Wins

It may seem presumptuous to take on the nom de guerre of one of Boxing’s legendary fighters, but through now 18 bouts, Super Middleweight Peter “Kid Chocolate” Quillin hasn’t found anyone to call him on it in the ring. [details]

I watched the Witherspoon fight around 1 am. He looked average against a average opponent......I don't see him being a star.

Yeah it was complete bull**** I was up till like 1:30 in the morning watching this ****, and it's all b/c espn thought they could squeeze the Red Sox/Yankees game in two hours, started at 7:00(Cst) and was supposed to end at 9:00(Cst) well the game didn't end till like 10:15(Cst) or something and then they showed baseball tonight instead until like 11:45(Cst) or something and then they finally aired it, too late I bet they didn't even get viewers for that ****, pissed me off!!!!

They didn't air until midnight, which was so ******. I stayed up and watched the fights, but boxing shouldn't be bumped by early season baseball. The games now have no playoff ramifications, so what gives?

Quillin looked good, but he needs to work on keeping his distance and maintaining a more consistent workrate. He's strong as an ox, like Jermain Taylor strong at middleweight, but he has a few things to work on. Remember, he had less than 20 amateur fights so he's still working on things.

Quillin has talent, but he definitely still needs plenty of work. With the limited amateur experience you mention he needs at least a half dozen more fights and about 18 months before he steps in with the best in the division. He really should have been able to stop Echols, but he lacked the technique to get the job done.

It seemed to me that the only thing that bothered Echols was Quillin's physical strength.
