    DAWSON wins 10th round????

    Thoughts?

One of the judges gave Dawson the 10th round. That was the round where Johnson hit him with a great right hand and had Dawson hurt...

Personally, i thought it was a very close round. People are so quick to give people rounds if they hurt their opponents. Sometimes they deserve it, sometimes not.

Dawson was fighting back after he got hurt and landed some bombs, Johnson landed a few good shots after the big right hand, but nothing truly telling. Not to mention, Johnson had his shoes boxed off for the first 2 minutes of the round.

I dont think its at all out of line to give Dawson that round, alhtough i did give it to Johnson. It was a close round

No way in hell Dawson won that round, Johnson hurt Dawson badly and almost knocked him out, that was a clear cut round for Johnson.

Glen Johnson won the fight, he was ****ing ROBBED!!!

I remarked to my brother that Dawson deserved that round afterward, but I'm surprised even one judge gave it to him. He won the entire round up to that punch, like 2:15 of it, and he won that big. Johnson landed the huge shot, but then Dawson won the rest of the round after that even though hurt.

I have to admit that I was taken with the tide on fight night, and I felt that Johnson deserved the nod. But looking at it again today, I think that it was a very close fight, and I can't argue with a Dawson victory.

The 10th was a big round for Glen. I scored it by one round to him.

IMO,Dawson outboxed Johnson for almost 2 mins and 30 secs of the round, then the big punch landed,i dont see how he was "ALMOST KOED" because he was fighting back even after being hurt, could have been knocked down? Yep,but it didnt look like the fight was gna be over,i aint gona argue with the judges on this round,u can score it for Johnson because of the huge punch,or Dawson because of the way he was outboxing Johnson for almost the whole round

Well he CLEARLY lost about 2 mins and 30 seconds of the round, but dominated maybe 30 seconds of the round. So it definetly wasnt a clear cut round or a "HUGE" round for Johnson

I gave that round to Johnson but its hard to argue with the judges giving that round to Dawson because he was fighting back while he was dazed. All close rounds normally go to the champion.

This thread is full of revisionist history. I ended up scoring the fight a draw, for the record, but the tenth round was in no way dominated by Johnson for even ten seconds. As I already said, he lost 2:30 of it in a landslide to start the round. He then landed the huge shot, hurt Dawson, but fought even at best the rest of the round after that in their exchanges. If a fighter hurting another fighter absolutely gives him the round in your scoring system, that is fine and it is a Johnson round. But if you try to take everything possible into account, I have a hard time justifying giving it to Johnson. Can one punch that does not result in a knockdown nullify 2:45 of work? I don't think so, not on my card anyway.

I had it a draw with the two closest rounds on my card going to Dawson (6 and 8). I can't really understand a Dawson victory with that in mind, but Johnson has no room to declare robbery since he didn't clearly win more than 6 rounds. I had him sweeping the last 3 rounds.
