A ten count or the equivalent (like Pavlik-Taylor I which was technically a TKO but that's as proper as it gets)

I can't wait to see how many times these guys can catch each other.

I think its a ****** idea for Calzaghe to change up his game and try to only throw 500-600 punches. I think the one thing that might give bhop trouble is his workrate. I dont think Calzaghe should go into the fight thinking knockout, just do what you always do. Does anyone else think this is the wrong plan?

I don't think he'll only consitrate on the ko, i think if the opening shows itself he'll go after the ko then back off if he sees Hopkins isn't hurt. But i think Calzaghes movement, speed and power are going to give Hopkins trouble all night long. I can only see Hopkins winning if he smuthers Calzaghe and i think Calzaghe is too strong and smart of a boxer to allow Hopkins to do this. Also Calzaghe can get caught with an exchage of punchs but Hopkins doesn't really exchage anymore he relays more on counter punching or catching his opponet with a shot.

Joe is flexible when it comes to adapting in the ring, I don't believe he has much of a strategy for any fight. What he always seems to do is try to get a feel for an opponent's strength in the first round, this involves a little bit of clinching and pushing around (usually makes the first round of a Calzaghe fight look sloppy) then it looks like he applies whatever strategy is needed on-the-fly.

I fell asleep during BHOP v Winky if BHOP fought at MW against Winky it would have been a different story! And the only way BHOP is gona KO Joe is by Holyfield style headbutts. You people in the states have horse blinkers on and i made great amounts of $$$ with BHOPS fights against DLH and Tarver but this time around would not even consider betting my $$$ on BHOP. Maybe only via DQ cause his gona get frustrated.

I think Hopkins will KO Joe! I just feel like Joe has no idea what is comin! He's beaten clown after clown with a couple of semi-clowns in between and really thinks he's beaten the best the sport has to offer! WRONG! He's a great champ and a cool dude, but come Sat. night he'll start doubting himself and thatz why itz no doubt Bernard will KO Joe late!

Those favoring Hopkins are just not understanding that what a fighter was capable of doing earlier in his career may not be the same as he is capable today. Hopkins since the first Taylor fight has shown he no longer can go a solid 3 minutes every round. Against Winky both fighters showed they were not capable of sustained action. The best fighter Hopkins has fought in 5 years was the much overated Jermain Taylor who showed that in Hopkins present condition if you press him long enough he'll be overwhelmed and Hopkins lost both of those fights. Now, unless Calzaghe shows up as a completely different fighter all of a sudden I see Hopkins holding his own for the first few rounds then Calzaghe's workrate will easilly outpoint Hopkins if he tries to do what he's done in his last few fights which is turn it into a grappling match then throw a few punches on the way out. Calzaghe knows this and won't allow this to happen .I'm a fan of both fighters and no one sells a fight like Bernard Hopkins, fans believe his rheteric and refuse to believe what their eyes saw in his last few fights. You hear he beat Winky and Tarver which is true but both fights looked more an episode of dancing with the stars and neither Winky or Tarver looked like the fighters they once were, just as Hopkins isn't today. Grapple, hold punch, hold grapple. This is a real easy fight to predict. Calzaghe by easy decision.. The once retired Hopkins walks away with millions and with his ability to sell a fight will most likely continue to fight on for big bucks. Dela Hoya wrote the book on this now common system showing you really can retire from active fighting and pick and choose matches you don't deserve, lose and fight again for millions....Last edited by bluemax; 04-17-2008, 07:06 AM.
