Please explain how Cotto is just like Hatton

easy question. many posters here keep using Hatton as an example of how Cotto would get easily beaten by Floyd. I would assume that people would know difference between styles and attributes, but apparently.........

A younger Cotto than we see now was certainly a little bit like Hatton, relying on power and aggressiveness. I think earlier in his career he was something of a lesser version, fighting a similar style, but without Hatton's bounce and speed.

Nowadays he is completely different. If we are comparing him to Floyd's opponents I'd say Cotto is much more like the aged De La Hoya we saw trying to be a pressure fighter. Just like De La Hoya he comes ahead in relatively straight lines, and does his best work behind his jab. The difference between the two is that Cotto actually jabs consistently and can actually make something count once that jab has unlocked the door.

I still think he loses to Mayweather though.

They're not! People just look at their pressure & aggressive styles of fighting and figure their both the same...mostly to discredit Cotto & to say he hasn't earned a shot at Floyd!

He lives on the planet Earth, but that's it. They ain't nothin alike as fighters and a fight between Floyd and Cotto has nothing to do with Floyd v Hatton.

Only compraitiion would be all the hugging in Cotto-Mosley, which was just a bad night, they should rematch. Take one from Mayweather-De La Hoya

i think another difference between Cotto and De La is the distance they give themselves when trying to attack the body. Cotto is more ******* with the distance allowing for max strength on his body attack. De La smothered his distance and was resorted to throwing shots almost belly to belly with Floyd.

me too. but i also think it just might be the hardest test of floyd's career.
