Rule Proposal

If anybody ever saves boxing by creating a national commission or some type of unified league of promoters like other sports, the sport could have a boom. Boxing has world appeal, but it's sabatoging itself from within. Ideally, I'd like to see the sanctioning bodies put out of business and replaced by an official ranking system. But if there's just a commission to oversee the bodies, I have two rule proposals that would clear the way for fights like Tarver-Johnson. Let me know if there's any reason these rules wouldn't work, and any other rules you'd like to see:

1. A champion must always have the option of unifying with another titlist from one of the main sanctioning bodies instead of facing his mandatory.

2. No sanctioning body may exclude a fighter from their rankings because he holds another major title.

It's like the 10th most popular sport in the States, behind soccer, hockey, fooseball, indoor soccer and midget oil wrestling. all this talk about saving boxing and boxing boucning back like the good old days is foolish. I think the problem with Boxing these days is that it's oversaturated with too many belts in each weight class.

If boxing were that far gone. Then ppl like Dela Hoya, Tito, VK, B-Hop, Golota, Pac Man, El Terrible, MAB, ect... wouldnt be able to get PPV fights. Boxing is just fine. Dead. LMAO...man every time you post it makes me laugh fat girl!

1. That leads to champs always fighting themselves and not allowing other fighters the opportunity to fight for a belt. Maybe the rule should read that you can opt out of a mandatory only once to attempt a unification. After that fight, if that champ wins, he must face his mandatory. If the other fighter wins then he may chose to unify or face his mandatory from his first belt and then the one from his second before attempting to unify again.

2. Yes, I agree. Actually, I believe there should only be ONE sanctioning body or commission, not 4 then subdivided into minor ones. B.S.

This second rule, however, won't come to pass because of all the monetary interest in boxing. They will lobby and lobby and lobby to not have to be disbanned into a single commission, as it should be. Damn currupt maafahggas!
