Booing the American national anthem could effect the judges scorecard.

In a perfect world this topic wouldn't even be debatable but a subconscious ill feeling in the judges mind could cost Joe a couple of points.

edit: And I'm not saying it will happen, I'm saying why take the risk?

I read the national anthems are not being played for this fight because of this, or have the circumstances changed? If so, and the American national anthem is booed then Calzaghe has to win very convincingly.

The judges still gave Hatton a round or two so it didn't affect Hatton vs. Mayweather.

Of course it did! HBOs unofficial score card gave Hatton 4 rounds, which was a much better judgement. It affected all the officials.

Dude, if you gave Hatton more than 2 rounds there is no way you should ever be allowed to talk about boxing. That fight was a ****ing shutout. I think I gave Hatton round 3 or something and that was it.

National anthems won't be played for this fight, which is a good thing IMO.

Calzaghe himself made this very point. I don't know if it can be taken seriously or not but it would explain why Cortez was so poor last December.

Shouldnt matter Joe cannot control what happens in the crowd.

Referees and Judges are paid career guys if it affects them they shouldnt be in the game. I dont think it will matter i dont think anything will save Hopkins from a loss, he wont get beat up as he will run all night but it will be one-sided enough even LV judges will have no choice.
