    Hyping up fights ...

A lot of boxers do it, cause trouble at the weigh ins, **** talking etc... But i find it funny how, after the fight, they admit it was just an act to sell more tickets, then we beleive it all over again the next time

I guess it's a bit like watching actors in Movies, if it's good performance you start to believe what their saying.

some of them are to put on a show, some are legit, but nonetheless always for the sake of selling tickets

Yer it depends how well it is done, for instance the build up to Tarver Woods was so dire and obvioulsy premeditated.

I dont belive it's "ONLY" to sell tickets, though i do believe that has something to do with it. I think they also do it to try and get an edge over the other guy, they try to get a real dislike for the other guy to motivate themselves. Also if you manage to get in the other guys head before the fight and get him off his game plan, you have given yourself an advantage.
