Cotto is not Floyd Mayweather, nor is he is his class. Cotto is not fast enough to continually bombard hatton with punches, not is he a big welterweight eg Collazo or Marg.
This would be a great fight, one i have wanted to see for years and it would be pretty even
it's ok to actually believe this **** if you're from Manchester.worst case scenario this **** ends up like the urkal fight, best case cotto finishes him in 5.

im a die hard hatton supporter and i think if this fight had happened a couple of years back at 140lbs hatton would of beat cotto in a epic war for the ages. Unfortunately i have seen little to suggest that the hitman could compete with cotto at Welterweight.

Also i doubt the creditability of the source. tabloid papers publish a lot of crap these days.

would be an extremely interesting match up though still

i think you are severely underestimating the hitman. yeah i see cotto winning, but no ****ing chance on gods green earth does he KO's him in 5.
Hatton would make it very entertaining but probably wouldnt have the power to back cotto up so much and lose a clear decision. id still give him a chance though

This would be an awesome fight if it were to happen, but Floyd is so intent on fighting no-brainer fights to make money that he'll probably get the rematch anyway regardless of who he beats.

I personally think Miguel is too big, too strong, punches too hard and is too good a boxer for Ricky. It woulda been better at 140 back in 2005 or 06

Miguel Cotto vs Ricky Hatton would be a great fight. I think Cotto will in in 8 rounds or less though. People have got to give Ricky more credit, he's a great fighter, he just isn't big enough.

i read this is a national UK newspaer today and cant beliv eno one else has posted it.
If this dose devolp and get going it would be ausome
If its true, thats a very gutsy move by Hatton, eventhou Cotto is too big and strong for him, I give him credit.

I really rate the Ricky's talent but dont think that he can beat the likes of Cotto, Margarito or Mayweather at 10,7.

I'd even like to take a good look at Hatton down at light welter in his next two fights to see if the Mayweather defeat has taken anything out of him.

The thing is, if he is to stay at light welter hes hardly going to go down as a legend beating the likes of Witter or Magilinaggi (hope I spelt that right).
This post is the correct answer to this thread. Very good work.
