How many fights has Glen Johnson been robbed in?

I havent seen all of Johnson's career, but Ive heard that he has been on the bad side of a ton of close fights, that he might have deserved to win...so Im just wondering...

for those that have seen any of these fights, which ones did Johnson, in your opinion, deserve to win? Im basically just putting all his decision losses, because I really dont know the stories behind them.

    Chad Dawson
    Clinton Woods 1
    Clinton Woods 3
    Antonio Tarver 2
    Julio Cesar Gonzalez
    Derrick Harmon
    Omar Sheika
    Silvio Branco
    Syd Vanderpool
    Sven Ottke
    Joseph Kiwanuka

Interesting thread.......I'm not sure either but from what I've read he's been robbed at least a handful of times and a couple of his draws should have gone to him as well. I bolded Ottke because who hasn't been robbed fighting this guy in his backyard......

      Here's Glen Johnson's record.

You can see he has many split/majority decisions as well as close unanimous decisions and draws, many of those in the hometowns of the other fighters.

His most controversial fights are probably against Ottke, Sheika, JC Gonzales and Clinton Woods. Not all of his losses were ever broadcasted so it's hard to say.

Glen Johnson himself says that the only time he ever felt he truly lost was when he was demolished by Bernard Hopkins.

The trilogy with Woods eventually ended 1-1-1, but for me Johnson won all three. The first fight was definately a robbery. It was scored a draw, but Johnson should have been awarded a comfortable decision win. The third fight in the trilogy was a much closer affair. I personally scored it for Johnson by a round, but it was a very close fight so I don't consider it a robbery; it could have gone either way. The way Johnson has been treated in his career is a disgrace and I feel extremely sorry for him.

True. After he won ring magazine fighter of the year in 2004, he stated that hopkins was his toughest opponent to date and was hit the hardest by hopkins. Says a lot considering the good opponents he has faced.

LC: To date, who has given you the toughest challenge of your professional boxing career?

GJ: Bernard Hopkins. Without a doubt. He’s the only guy I know would beat me. Everyone else was a fight, a battle, I won some rounds they won some rounds. Some of the fights the judges stole off me. But he was the only guy who shut me down, the only time that when I watched the fight back I was unable to score a round to myself.

Yeah,I feel kinda bad for the guy also.....

The other night,I would have given him the fight...but it was close,so I don't consider that a total robbery. But given his history,I can understand why he would.

they said on the UK coverage he was robbed against Ottke.

That makes me 6 potential loses into 7 potential Ottke loses.

The british commentators are pretty straight down the middle, the gave Clinton Woods 1 round and two rounds respectively.

And the British judge gave Woods a round.

lol. Who says the Brits are bias?

From what I have read on Boxingscene it seems like the guy has been robbed on more than one occasion. However, I did watch most of the Dawson fight and from what I saw Dawson could have just edged a split decision, as he seemed to be in vague control (even though he was landing a lot of punches on the forearms and gloves of Johnson and was rocked in the 3rd and 10th). No way it was such a one sided fight as the scorecards made out though.

Also, just putting the name Ottke on there means he was robbed. I mean I watched the fight with Robin Reid and it literally is a joke. I mean Reid sent the guy flying across the ring with a combination and the clearly corrupt ref didn't even call it a knock down, this was just before deducting a point from Robin when Ottke kept holding HIM.
