I've started feeling sorry for Gomez lately. That has never happened before, the way Cotto brutalized the guy in the ring... I think even Cotto knew it too, he backed off, much the same way Roy backed off on Tito once he realised he could hurt him bad if he unloaded on him.

That said, Gomez shouldn't quit. He should continue polishing himself. He could be a good contender in the division, plus after the Cotto experience, he knows exactly how much he needs to raise his level to be competitive with the best in there.

Keep your chin up Alfonso. No shame in going down.
