Would a Golden Boy vs Pretty Boy Trilogy be good or bad for Boxing?

Lets assume for the sake of argument that Oscar where to defeat Mayweather in their rematch.

Would Boxing benefit from it? Their are many arguments that could be made so lets hear it.

If Oscar beats Mayweather..the third fight will be the biggest sport has EVER seen...I dont think Floyd could ever throw a fight..but he would make a killing.

It would mean that the guy hailed as the best in boxing would be a fraud for either taking a dive or losing a fight that he has absolutely no business losing.

It would be terrible for boxing.

You mean if Oscar wins the rematch?

I think it would be horrible. It yet again gives Oscar the opportunity to bank on his name and make a ****load of money on PPV, while also managing to tie up Mayweather all for himself while guys like Cotto, Margarito, Williams and Quintana all have to fight it out for #2.

The first fight sold a lot of PPVs but everybody trashed it in terms of entertainment, it didn't live up to the hype and I think that shadow will follow it into the rematch and even the rubber match if it went that far.

Sounds like a ready made excuse for all the Floyd monkey followers to claim he threw fight.

If he loses, he likely did. Fighters who throw fights can **** themselves as far as legacy is concerned IMO.

If he didn't throw it, then the truth comes out that he isn't really all that good, because Oscar is old, and showed that while he is still quite a good fighter, he has no business beating Floyd Mayweather.

Either way, if Floyd loses, he should probably go away from the discussion of ATG fighters.
