Hatton: "Calzaghe is Too Busy For Hopkins"

Ricky Hatton tells BBC Sport that his countryman, undisputed super middleweight champion Joe Calzaghe, throws too many punches for Bernard Hopkins to handle. Calzaghe is moving up to light heavyweight to face Hopkins on April 19 in Las Vegas, but Hatton doesn't think the jump in weight will be a factor in the fight. [details]

Ricky is severely underestimating Bernard's cagey counterpunching ability.

Just like Ricky's pressure would be too much for Floyd.

haha that reminds me of when Hatton was clowning on Floyd on 24/7 hitting the mitts, and he says something like "what the **** is that going to do, ill just hit you with one of these", ha if he only knew at the time.

Not sure about Hopkins being one of the five best boxers in the world right now - he hasn't fought since last July, is 43 and has lost two of his last four

" It did affect me [moving up against Mayweather] and you do notice a difference, but Joe is not exactly a small super-middleweight," said Hatton. "

This spin on Hattons weight is utter bull**** , he came in with Floyd no heavier than when he stepped in with Castillo ,,,, this is what I dont like about Hatton , he sings a different tune now than he did before the fact , the only diffence fighting Floyd was Hatton did not need to dry out to make weight , everything else was the same ,,,, but he is right I saw a difference , he was now in with a real fighter instead of a shot fighter , nothing to do with weight at all !

and I don't care what anyone says...thats the best shape Hatton was in ever in his career vs. Floyd... at the weigh-in he looked a lil' bit more ripped than Mayweather...which I think is amazing coming from a guy thats a light-heavyweight between fights..
