Diferrence in Calzaghe's comments on BHop compared to Kessler

Joe is much more disrespectful of Bernard than he was of Kessler, in fact he was nothing but respectful to Kessler, even talking about his strengths before the fight. Where as now, Calzaghe seems to be insulting BHop at every opportunity. Maybe a sign of fear or nerves on Joes part?

Obviously Bernard has been talking smack also but that was to be expected, I expected Joe to be the bigger man in this situation and concentrate on what he is doing not get involved in the insult slinging. Yes it builds hype but Bernard does enough talking to sell the fight on his own.

I'm not buying into this, I don't think Calzaghe is scared, I don't think he knows what fear is. What I do think is that he's taking every opportunity to get back at Hopkins for what Hopkins notoriously said to Joe's face. I don't think he's afraid but I do think he let Hopkins mental warfare get the better of him, at least momentarily.

Or... Maybe, just maybe Kessler respected him too. Hops was the one who started this whole talk mission when he confronted Cal for the camera's and the whole, "WHITE BOY," thing came out. Cal is just returning what he's getting. All good for HBO viewership this coming weekend.

The way I see it is Calzaghe gives respect to those who give him respect. Usually I find that if he's insulted first, he'll give it back as good as he gets. Kessler is a spot-on dude, totally down to earth and lacks a huge ego, it's almost impossible to talk **** about him. Joe ain't nervous, he isn't showing signs of nervousness. I think if he was he'd be much quieter.

Exactly. Good words to live by.

Come to think of it, Joe has shown respect to Bernard in the past, way before this fight came about. He said in a post fight interview one time "Hopkins is the man" and went on to say how he enjoyed a particular fight of his.

I hope you're right that in fact isn't nerves or fear (although I could undestand if he was nervous). I also hope none of this malarky is interfering with his fighting mindset.

I think Calzaghe will do to much to make sure Hopkins was wrong in his comments about never losing to a white boy......That bugs Calzaghe I can tell.
