if iceman says something about a guy on the world level's amateur record, it'd be a good idea to believe it. i've read most of the **** he's posted, and he seems like a cat who cares about his reputation. im not kissing ass or anything, just stating the obvious. ice ain't the one to speak up about something and not know 100% for it to be accurate especially when regarding a hall of famer's amateur record.Comment

call me idiot all you want but you going to end up digging your own grave. does amateur boxing help yes, but not for everyone. some great amateur don't do well in the pros. it kinda like great college players not doing good in the NBA or NFL. no more head gear is one of the big difference. plus i was in the air force amateur its a different scoring system than the regular amateurs. Not really? Sorry you are going to have to be a bit more specific before I decide whether to launch into a tirade about how much of an idiot you are. This only requires a yes or no answer: Does an amateur boxing fight count towards a boxer's experience?

Your point might be valid if we were discussing someone who had struggled with the transition from amateur to professional but we are not. We are discussing an individual who held and successfully defended a world title for a decade. Common sense tells us that Calzaghe learned the trade as an amateur and then developed those skills as a professional. It is blindingly obvious that his amateur career was pivotal to his success in the pro ranks but you are willfully ignoring that fact in order to back up a moot point.call me idiot all you want but you going to end up digging your own grave. does amateur boxing help yes, but not for everyone. some great amateur don't do well in the pros. it kinda like great college players not doing good in the NBA or NFL. no more head gear is one of the big difference. plus i was in the air force amateur its a different scoring system than the regular amateurs.
Quite how I am digging my grave when you are befriending ******ity in order to back up a weak case is anyone's guess.Comment

Yes I know what you did but I'm still trying to work out why you did it considering it has absolutely no relevance to the individual we are discussing.Comment

In Wales. If you try to say the UK amateur system is superior to the USA, you're wrong.
How many career defining fights has each fighter had?
Calzaghe: Jeff Lacy, and Kessler/Eubank which I'm not sure is "career defining". Jeff Lacy is questionable too.
Hopkins: fought- Roy Jones Jr., Jermain Taylor, DLH, Trinidad, Winky, and absolutely dominated Antonio Tarver.
At least 5 of his other opponents I would put higher than anybody on Calzaghe's list. Eubank was incredibly water drained on fight night, Lacy lifts too much weight/had no experience, and Mikkel Kessler is from Denmark.Comment
