Excellent post. I think your analysis is exactly right. I saw another post today pointing out that if Floyd and Cotto do fight, and if Floyd wins, then and only then will he gain respect from his detractors, and I think that will turn out to be true. Cotto has taken on an almost talismanic role as "the man who can and will beat Floyd" and I think that when/ if Floyd beats him (which I fully expect) it will be hard for anybody to do anything other than acclaim Floyd as the best boxer in the world. At least that what should happen....

To those people who refuse to read this thread, come on. OK, Horus posts about Floyd a lot but he always backs it up with intelligent, thoughtful reasoning. If you think its too long, well...any well constructed argument is always going to be longer than a few lines of type. This is a boxing forum and we do come here to read arguments and opinions about boxing don't we?

Floyd is now been sitting fat, and making WAY TOO MUCH money, and really talking **** to anybody who would listen. He has set his aura of invincibilitySo High that People now want to see him beat at all cost.

So they search for the perfect Opponent to beat him by judging from the previous opponents he has beaten.

1. Cant be the same size. The fighter must be Bigger (Hatton)
2. Cant be to 3 years older because that's to old. (Oscar)
3. Cant be to slow (Baldomir)
4. Cant be to fast (Judah)
5. Cant have a Slow Work Rate. Cant Let Floyd Dictate Pace (Corralles)
6. Cant have a weak chin ( Ndou)
7. Cant be One Dimensional slugger (Gatti)
8. Cant Over pressure , because Floyd would counter punch all day( Castillo)
9. Cant lack Power ( Chavez)
10. Cant let Floyd stay in the middle of the ring..! (Mitchell)

Finally they come to the conclusion the fighter has
To be a big fighter, around the same age or younger, a power puncher, not to slow, but not to fast, has a high work rate, a strong chin, multi dimensional, balance pressure, and pressure Floyd to the Ropes.. And That will be the fighter that Beats Floyd.

So they look around and the closes thing they got is Cotto... He almost fix all the requirements, and he is undefeated...! HE OURS MAN....
