He had a guy who he knew wasn't in his league and wanted to inform his opponent of the talent disparity. Cotto fought very professionally in taking apart Gomez. When he stared down Gomez at the end of the round, he was telling him definitively, "This isn't 'The Contender'; I'm not Peter Manfredo."

i got to thinking (after watching the fight again)...

it could be cotto's way at taking a shot at mayweather...

he did some things that were very characteristic of mayweather.

the way he tucked his chin in his shoulder; letting the left hang low; the way he danced like mayweather...

he could be mocking him for all we know.

or maybe its a new confidence...

he DOES have reason to be confident...he steam rolled judah; won a decision over mosley; just plain outclassed gomez.

he's feeling confident.

especially considering that he got a knockout without brawling...he just outboxed him...i think its making him feel elite right now.
