based on those 3 losses you cant pass out the judgemenet. yes they were recent, and yes they were pretty bad, but when you break them down you can undersdtand why it happened.
cintron just cant beat margarito, cuz tony is one of the toughest sob's out there. kermit struggled with such pressure fighters as feliciano and barely made it out, that told the whole tale of how the remacth would go with tony.
kermit is just not strong enough to go up against a fighter of that magnitude, he falls under pressure
taylor lost to pavlik pretty bad the first time. when he switched trainers it didnt help him, he lost for the second time without manny in his corner. the only difference in the rematch was that he didnt get knocked out. pavlik is just too strong, and taylor hasnt been impressive with his past opponents, even before he got with manny, his first win over hopkins was questionable. he struggled in the second fight too. after that i said that this kid isnt gonna make it once it gets too rough in there, and there were those moments in the winky fight too. manny's job is to improve taylor as a fighter, give him instructions, break down the gameplan, and taylor is an instinctive fighter, he'll still do what he wants regardless of what anybody says to him. he'll listen but eventually he'll start doing whatever feels right for him.
lee is up and coming fighter. maybe he was hyped up but these things happen, he'll learn and ultimately he, not manny, but lee will make the decision what kind of fighter he wants to be. Lee believed in his own hype too, and that causes fighters to slip. they were talking pavlik fight even before they got into the ring with vera. that pretty much explains itself
with that being said, i like manny, but i dont like his attitude. he does seem to have this overconfident feeling, and think that his fighters are monster destroyers. it was a humbling experince for his fighters, as well as manny himself. but his ignorance doesnt take away from what he accomplished. i say steward is a good trainer but he has his moments.
Ive been saying this for so long and people use to rip me saying that he was a HOF.
My argument was name 1 guy besides Hearns that Steward ever took from day 1 and made great. He never does. Hearns was a freak. Manny just got lucky on him. Every other great fighter Manny gets are always champs even before he gets them. There already established as top notch boxers then he gets them and takes all the credit.
Most of the time they end up sucking just like there doing now. Then people want to listen to what Steward says like its the Gospel or something. Its the same thing when people were sweating McGirt. He thinks Gatti is going to beat Floyd by outboxing him? You swear these guys were on drugs if you didnt know any better

This happens with other trainers too.
Name one trainer that you think fits the opposite?
