Dawson Actually Impressed Me

Although he could have elected to fight with pure movement etc.. and coast to a win he stood toe to toe for a lot of it and "beat" although it was much closer than the card suggest Johnson at his own game.
He displayed incredible heart especially in the 9th where i thought he was going to be stopped and beat a guy who has mountains more experience than Dawson and had been in with some of this era's best.
Johnson had faced - Tarver, Jones, Woods, Griffin, Ottke, Hopkins, Gonzalez, Sheika
and Dawson had beaten Admek......
Dawson proved ha can adapt even though he could've made it much easier by moveing and pot shotting he didn't.
I guarantee he would get as many haters if he moved and pot shotted as he has done with this tough title defense where he elected to fight a much risker fight. People would be calling his boring etc...
He impressed me and I hope to see more.
Johnson does deserve a rematch or atleast a titleshot with his hard fought fight though.

Dawson is getting ripped a little excessively, but his seeming inability to take a punch and defensive lapses are going to be trouble. It's fun to bet against him, I'll say that much. He starts closing up whenever he gets hit.

Dawson fought well enough but that decision ******. He owes Glen a rematch and I doubt he and Shaw will give it to him.

Props to both fighters as they fought their asses off for the full 12.
Dawson made it a lot close than it probably should have been, but Johnson was relentless and kept coming and tried his best to capitalize when he hurt Chad pretty bad. Chad kept trying and that rates highly with me.
When Dawson boxed and kept his distance, he did fine.
Despite some chin question, he showed he's willing to war, and can get through the rough stuff fairly well.

It was a such a close and hard fought battle that both guys really deserve props for giving us a good show.

I can't see how either guys stock would go down after last night.

I didnt see the fight but think you make a general valid point that all to often a fighter gets hurt and comes back or at least makes a fight of it and rarely is much credit given.
And dare i say it maybe maybe not enough criticsm when people get cuaght hurt and dont get up.
Its always hard to judge pyshcological efforts, i still cant make my mind up on the Derry Mathews saga the other week.
