It ain't about how hard you hit ...

"The world ain't all sunshine and rainbows.
It's a very mean and nasty place... and I don't care how tough you are, it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently, if you let it. You, me or nobody, is gonna hit as hard as life. But ain't about how hard you hit... It's about how hard you can get hit, and keep moving forward... how much you can take, and keep moving forward. That's how winning is done. Now, if you know what you worth, go out and get what you worth. But you gotta be willing to take the hits. And not pointing fingers saying: You ain't what you wanna be because of him or her or anybody. Cowards do that and that ain't you!
    You're better than that!"

Scratch that, in the case of a "Balboa" its about how hard the REFEREE will let you get hit....which in his case would probably be not nearly enough.

Yes, I like taking silly threads seriously.

i felt like in his fight with Drago the referee coulda jumped in and rescued the Philly native from the punishment that the soviet brute was dealing out to him.

ivan killed the man in the ring for goodness sake. if it wasnt for rocky's determination he would see the world no more.....not the one with sunshine and rainbows folks.

At least Tony Danza and Mickey Rourke were actual pro boxers with fairly good records.

I give Stallone props for highlighting boxing in our modern age. I just think sometimes (ala when he was the Contender) he actually views himself as a fighter.
