    Wladimir Klitschko - Too methodical?

Before anyone thinks I'm a hater or that I'm ignorant, let me make this clear. I like him, I think he's a good boxer and I think he's a great human being. It's just that sometimes, it doesn't seem like he was born to be a boxer. It seems more like he stumbled into it and decided to just stick with it. I think he lacks that killer instinct. He thinks way too much. Also, I don't think he could hang with HWs of other generations, like Foreman, Ali, Tyson, etc.

Let me know what you guys think.

Wlad would hang with anybody of any boxing generation. His right is as powerful as any in boxing history.

Sure he thinks a lot - he's an intelligent fighter.

I agree. He is too much of a perfectionist and that leads to him thinking too much in the ring, he needs to let things flow a bit more.

He has most of the tools to be great, he's slowly getting there with Steward but his chin will always be a factor.

i think that wlad is good enough to share the ring with any heavyweight in history based on his physical ability alone. his courage has been questioned before but i dont think that wlad is a coward

the thing with him, is that he is a technical boxer. he've very conscious of not getting hit which sometimes results in a boring performance, and wald had a few.

like in his last fight with byrd. he dominated no question, a show of clear superiority. but in the first few rounds he was so cautious trying to avoid getting hit, that you'd think that byrd was the biggest puncher in heavyweight history. until the ko, the fight wasnt really all that exciting

his last fight, everyone knows what happened. in the last round sultan was ready to be taken. klitschko was way ahead on all cards, but again he thought too much before he acted, and in the end didnt do too much of anything to please the viewers.

sometimes you gotta take some to give some. wlad likes to give but he doesnt like to take. no boxer really wants to take the risk and take a few punches in the process but it has to be done.

whether wlad was born to be a boxer or not is irrelevant, because he has technical brilliance unrivaled by anyone in the past decade. Check out his jab for an example

He does seem to be more methodical under Steward.

Cautious is probably the right word. The Ibraghimov fight was a snoozefest. I liked Peter-Maskaev more, even though they were two guys who Wlad could outbox with his eyes closed. I'm not saying that I wouldn't watch his fights, but he tends to be too catutious for his own good, and that may alienate casual boxing fans.
