He's certainly an extremely determined young man. I think you have to admire his guts though, in the past he battled hard with Manfredo and a bigger Jesse Brinks. I think he draws an incredible interchangeable character of likeable, popular, nice guy outside of the ring, but fiercely competitive warrior toughness in the ring. Normally the two go together much more but not with Alfonso, which is why he's so popular.
Concerned he's hyping it up a little too much though, every time he says I'm ready to take the belt, make no doubt come april 12th I will be champion, I cringe. Gona feel bad for him as he's done almost everything right.
But 1st step to success is belief, and he's certainly got that right and prooved people wrong before against all odds, so even if he does lose, he's right to carry through that attitude that's clearly worked so well for him.
