I was also excited when Jeremy Williams made the decision to go to Cruiser. I always thought what a monster Jeremy Williams would have been at light heavy with that power he has if he had stayed at that weight after the olympics.

Those were two heavies who had gifts but just couldn't keep up with the "super heavies".
I hope it goes well as well. I am a little concerned though. When RJJ did this he lost more then pounds he lost muscle. Look at what that did to him? He was never the same. I hope Chris is being careful and I would love to see him make a run of it at LH.

Bob Fitsimmons and Roy, won titles from middleweight to heavyweight, then back down to light heavyweight... thats the only difference

but byrd is a 2 time HW CHAMP, and made some title defenses, so hes got a great resume in his own right

Still be exciting to get another good name back at LHW

Byrd was a lil fleshy at HW I think he will be ok. He's probably doing some cutting. If he doesn't look cut at LHW than I would be worried meaning he didn't lose fat but muscle also.

That division is starting to heat up after being stagnant for a while.

Lets hope so. Chris may not be the most exciting fighter but he is a really nice guy. I can't help rooting for him. Also if he doesn't lose a lot of muscle he may even fight a bit more aggressively at 175.

Byrd can be effective at 175, and there ain't any lethal KO punchers there so he has a chnace to do better than he did at HW.
