I think his chin is great to be honest, I just think he gets reckless and gets hit too much even by average boxers, And they all takes there toll in the end.

When you get hit too much too often then you are bound to go down once in a while.

i think its in the middle ground of average and iron.

its a bit above average but not the chin of say kelly pavlik (you could slam a mac truck into him and he would still recover within a 9 count) haha...just kidding.

        i voted average...

floyd landed punches at a ridiculously high percentage.

no matter how weak the puncher or how good the chin if you get hit enough times eventually those punches add up and can lead to a knockdown or knockout.

even the featherfisted malignaggi was able to get a quick knockdown of ndou in their fight (it wasnt nothing spectacular but paulie kept landing punches and landing punches) and once ndou jumped forward paulie was swinging with a right cross to the double force of impact made up for paulie's lack of power...thats very similar to what happened to hatton...hatton jumped RIGHT INTO that check hook.

same goes for katsidis v. casamayor (not saying casamayor is feather fisted) but katsidis jumped right into that shot from casamayor that put him down and eventually led up to the knockout win for casamayor.

and as far as that check hook from mayweather goes (not taking credit away from mayweather...i think hatton would have still fell) but the ring post gave a little assistance to be completely honest and fair.

I think Hatton rides on andrenaline for a good 7 to 8 rounds, after that he's beggin to be knocked out. Fatigue sets in, he can't focus, gets predictable by going straight to his lunging style. And I think that 7 to 8 rounds will just get slimmer and slimmer as his career continues. And I think his training takes away from his body even more, which just makes the chances of him being knocked out even greater.

And that's not even considering who he fights. If he fight's a guy who can touch him from round 1 on up, he'll go down late.

erm how did mayweather score a high percentage of punches on hatton? mayweather hit hatton about 6/7/8 times average each round. basically the whole of your post you just write was crack. The highest times he hit him was 15 in round 9 or 10. Hatton for the record was hitting mayweather around the same times. Both landed 30+~ punches each round.

High percentage but actually not that many since PBF was rationing his punches for the most part. Hatton actually should've been abe to take PBF's power better at WW than jrWW because while neither is considered a natural WW Hatton is much more of a WW than PBF.

Hatton's fight weight for the Tzu fight was 150lbs and that fight was a jrWW fight.

PBF's fight weight for DLH was 148lbs and that was a jrMW fight.

Also consider that PBF landed WAY more punches on a severely diminished (but not yet shot) Gatti and Gatti never legitimately went down. You can't tell me PBF landed cleaner and more punches on Hatton than he did on Gatti.

Hattons chin is average, it isn't a liability but it isn't an asset to him the way Margarito's, Mayorga's or Baldomir's chins were to them.
