What I like to now is what Paul Williams is getting paid for this fight and if is more than Quintana, then Quintana shouldn't sign. Anyways is going to be the same all over again the only difference is that Williams gets knocked out this time.Comment

Thanks for the correction, BTW even tho you probably didnt take it that way, but I didnt post that to try to say you were inaccurate, I posted that because I thot it was a shame that he was paid so little.
And in all actuality Carlos went home with much less then 100k, a third of his purse goes to the promoter, 20 percent to the manager, and 10 and 5 percent to each of his cornerman, and of course theres tax.
He deserves much more money this time and while I think he may deserve more then Paul I think a 50-50 split is fairComment

That's a pretty simplistic way of looking at it. The fact of the matter is that this is a business and there are contracts involved. Do you know what Paul Williams' per-fight guarantee is? I don't. I know Cotto's per-fight minimum guarantee is $2.6 Million. Maybe Paul has a minimum of $750,000 that we don't know about (it's an arbitrary number, but I'm using it as an example). If that were the case, and the network and promoters only have X number of dollars to pay the fighters with, then it would explain why they're only offering Carlos $350,000 for this fight. I know the promoters don't want to lose money and I'm sure Paul Williams is adamant about making his minimum guarantee, which leaves Carlos out in the cold.
Now, I'm not sure that's what's happening, but it wouldn't surprise me. I agree that Carlos should make more money but, then again, he needs to be a man and own up to his contractual obligations and fight Williams next.Comment

Yes, that's how he came up with the "I'm making the same money as the first fight" argument. In the first report, they were offering Carlos $250,000 for the fight, and he said that's what he made for the first. He was counting the bonus and his guarantee, which adds up to roughly $250,000.Comment

Nice business knowledge, its sad tho cuz even if he earn 250k he himself only got about 60k of that. Boxing is a crazy business man and only the elite get any real moneyYes, that's how he came up with the "I'm making the same money as the first fight" argument.
