    Welterweight Tournament

While we're waitin on PBF to rematch DLH, we got plenty of wlterweight action to look forward to with top contenders facin off. The Gomez-Cotto and Cintron-Margarito winners are already pretty much set to face each other. These 4 fights are already in place, so let's say we had an official elimination tournament with the top 10 147 LB-ers to see who unified the other 3 belts to become the top challenger to Floyd:

    Gomez
    Cotto

    Cintron
    Margarito

    Quintana
    Williams

    Mosley
    Judah

Who ya got finishing as WBA/WBO/IBF champ? How do you see these fights going? Depending on who ya got winnin it, how do you see a fight between that guy and Money May? I'd say Cotto wins, Marg wins, Williams wins, Mosley wins. Cotto-Marg: Marg. Williams-Mosley: Mosley. Marg-Mosley: Mosley ends up with all the alphabet hardware. Mosley vs Floyd for all 5 belts: Mosley undisputed welterweight champion of the world.

****ing ridiculous idea that Cotto would have to fight to become the #1 challenger to floyd. If theres were to be a Welter tourney, it would be to dictate who the best welter is meaning floyd should have to fight too. i mean, he's unbeatable so he would win it either way no?

No Cotto shouldn't have to fight to get his shot since he's number 1 contender already, but I doubt he'll sit around waitin and not fightin whoever gets put in front of him so he can hold out for Floyd. This tournament is meant to be all hypothetical homey. And by the way Floyd is unbeaten, not unbeatable.

          my uneducated , biased opinion?

          cotto beats gomez.
          margarito beats cintron.
          quintana beats williams.
          mosley beats judah.

cotto beats margarito. (pick 'em. could go either way with me)
          mosley beats quintana.

          cotto (or margarito) beats mosley.

cotto (or margarito) loses to floyd.

not gonna happen anyway. mark my words...... de la hoya will beat floyd to set up a $$$$$$ rubber match.

Didn't add Clottey just cuz he ain't involved in the 4 fights that are already set to happen (3 if Quintana balks for more pay). He's got a shot at beatin all these guys except Floyd imo.

He woulda beaten Tony if he didn't injure his hand and he only lost to Baldomir by DQ in a fight he had under control.

well i think this tournament is unlikely and i cant pick winners for all these fights...some are REALLY close to be honest...like cintron/margarito...that one (in my opinion) really could go either way. hard to say at this point.

but cotto has beaten all of these guys except gomez (which in all likelyhood will happen this weekend); williams; margarito; cintron.

and i think out of the 4 four he hasnt fought that either williams or margarito give him the most problems but i can see him overcoming both of them...

to me (after gomez) cintron would be the easiest fight for cotto out of the bunch...and a tie between williams and margarito (both would be much closer fights for cotto)
