      ok Ill try

Tysons STYLE was the mother of his fast demise. yes his character aided it BUT the bob and weave with the big upper body movement requires HUGE conditioning. ONLY a young 100% fighter can make it work. It is not conusive to a long career that a technical or power fighter might enjoy. ie lewis or foreman.
Its like a refex fighter who ages and loses his advantage..it cant be brought back. Against Lweis he was able to do it for 1 round.. and he won that round!.. At the time he was FOR SURE a ATG.. if you dont think so...your a ***!
      Ok the edit is f@g!

He's overrated by some and he really isn't a top 10 heavyweight with all due respect to him.

I dare you to watch any of Tyson's older fights and not get excited. Not one of the 5 greatest ever, but I think I'd put him in 10.

head to head tyson can beat anyone.

legacy and resume-wise not a top 10 atg.

he can beat those that are on the top 10 atg list though......

his speed , power , skills , etc. are hard to beat. he had a good chin too.

head to head top 10. resume not top ten though.

I say underrated now that the poll was added. Since the title of the thread says prime Tyson I'd put him in those first 5 or 6 years somewhere in the top ten. Based on his record, opposition (once he reached the top level), and the impact he made on the sport he deserves a spot somewhere in the top 10. Beat Berbick, Bonecrusher, Tucker, Pinklon, Holmes (though not prime), Spinks, Bruno, and Tubbs, all fighters who won HW belts, w/ the only non KO's being UD's. Also whomped Biggs, Williams, Olympic foe Tillman, Stewart, and took 2 real tough wins over Ruddock before that ****in Washington ***** got him arrested and robbed us of one of the greatest primes ever in the sport. She and Robin Givens shoulda been lynched by boxing fans. Prime Tyson was the baddest man on the planet.

I laugh at the talk otherwise. I'm not ******, I know Tyson would potentially demolish every guy who every put on a pair of Boxing gloves on his best night. People try and get cute talking about how Tyson wasn't this, and Tyson wasn't that.. Cute.
