wtf just happend to this thread? i just find it weird that you are choosing to use words which have definitions everyone recognizes to relay messages and opinions only to say that just because general consensus follows these definitions shouldnt mean the words should be limited TO those definitions. I was only trying to explain to you that, Just because your Definition of the word Fan has a "general consensus" among your friends.. It doesnt Meaned that it is the only definition everybody must go by... Because some people believe in a different definition of the word . That's why Some words have Multiple Meanings..

why are you saying "you" and "your friends" though. its a definition used by society. thats ALL ive been saying. i use it because i was taught by society as do my friends. but like you said, to each his izzown.

and my point is that Your definition of Fan is one definition used by the society you were raised in, that is my point.

Floyd says he won't fight Cotto until Cotto has a bigger fanbase and can draw more money. Yet, I wonder, honestly, who really has the bigger fanbase? Floyd is known for sending people out of the stadium if he's not fighting a named opponent. How on earth could his be bigger than the rising star Cotto who can easily sellout MSG?

Haters are part of a fighter's fanbase by default, especially in Floyd's case because they'll watch everyone of his ****in fights prayin to see him lose. Add that to his actual fans that like him and he outdoes Cotto. In terms of just plain fans that support either guy Cotto probably wins though.
