The problem is they are unknown because people havent really see them fight.....they're definitely not underrated..
Well with Kotelnik, he hasn't really gotten a really good win under his belt. I never saw Rees, but I never saw a single post praising him. He was always known as "the worst champion in the sport", until he lost his belt on the first defense.

Sergei, on the other hand, has a pretty damn good win over a fellow champion in Daniel Santos. No one even talks about him as a threat in the 154 pound division. It kind of sickens me that James Kirkland is a bigger threat to that division than Dzinziruk in most people's minds.

      Humberto Soto
      Juan Diaz
      Timothy Bradley
      Antonio Margarito
      Mikkel Kessler

I want to add Dzinruzik to the list, but I've never seen him. Either way, I heard he beat Santos convincingly, and gets no love, which doesn't add up in my mind.
      Great list.

Anything american would alway be seen as the next big thing so nothing has change in that respect, But i cant see how anyone who has seen both Kotelnik and Dzinziruk in action call them underrated....i would say unknown to the North american fans.

Kotelnik is a brilliant technical/defensive fighter who i think need to be match up against the american fighters at 140 like timothy bradley for him to get some much needed expose in the united states.

Dzin is a brilliant southpaw who handle santos with ease, But both fighters need american exposure not just german exposure.

          Thank you.

I just tried to think through every division that I actually know anything about (122 and up).

I thought I might catch some flak for Juan Diaz, because I think I'm alone in that one. Compared with most people I have Diaz extremely highly rated. I'd pick him in a Campbell rematch, and I honestly think he beats everyone at 135, except for maybe Pacquiao... I can't make a pick on that one.

The most underrated on that list is Timothy Bradley I think. That dude looked emaculate when I watched him fight.

You not alone on thinking Diaz would beat Campbell in a rematch. I feel the same way. It would be tough for him though.

Bradley really impressed me against Witter.

He showed good skills and fundamentals. I haven't seen his most recent fight.

I didn't see the Witter fight.

I just saw him against Cherry, and yeah, I know it's Cherry, but... what came to mind when I watched it was "Man, all those things that people say are wrong with Chad Dawson... if you fixed that, it would look like Timothy Bradley is looking like right now."

In other words, it seems like Timothy Bradley is all the things that Chad Dawson is supposed to be.

He showed a tough chin, solid defense, and took the fight to Witter.

He outboxed him, outlanded him and really deserved a clear UD win.

I personally think Dawson is a good talented fighter.

He has flaws like his defense and chin but his defense can be worked on and appears to be improving every fight imo. he showed good heart against Johnson also.

I think Bradley has teh potential to be the best 140 of his era, but it worries me that he has been pushed to far too fast.

He's skipped an entire level of competition and I hope it doesn't come back to haunt him.

People complain about Hatton taking 35 fights before getting to the top level, but honestly that how long it should take, Champ at 25 fights is too soon to get everything right and inevitably that can cost those fighters down the line.
