I hope and pray that this fight will not push through. This kind of match-up must be brought to WWE with choreography and all.

how convenient that you ignore this post.
i fail to understand why some people feel that any press is good press for boxing. it doesnt work that way. DLH/Mayweather I was a huge event that disappointed casual fans. All casual fans I know who watched the fight said it ******. Now, most diehard fans will say that it doesnt matter what casual fans think, but diehard fans dont pay the bills, casual fans do.if both fighters come out sloppy, overweight, and put on a boring fight which are all very possible at this stage of their careers, it would definitely be a black eye for boxing. outsiders would see it as a desperate attempt by boxing to get back to the limelight in my opinion.Comment

Im not surprised this fight is being made to be honest.
Its a chance for each figher to get the limelight again (in mike's case; no offense but; some limelight for something legal and that he should be known for and thats boxing)
its a big payday once more for two Hall Of Fame fighters who gave us a lot during their careers.
i personally would watch this fight.
im a fan of the work of each fighter and think after all they done for us that they should be entitled to one last payday and one last chance at glory.
I do think the venue (no offense to the people of St. Louis) is all wrong.
Why would they pick St. Louis (even just as an idea?)...
why not Vegas? or New York? Atlantic City?
a city/state boxing is known for having big bouts there...
not St. Louis.
imagine if it does indeed get made for september and took place in vegas.
it would be a month long party/press/fan mecca.
you'd have mayweather v. de la hoya II and then you'd have tyson v. holyfield all in the same month in the same city.
it would be HUGE...
i think at the very least holyfield v. tyson would be entertaining.
Forget about the fights between them before...we are talking about 2008 not 1998.
and for those who said it wouldnt be good press for boxing is wrong in my opinion. we will more than likely be treated to a knockout of some sort (its a pickem fight to be honest since we havent seen tyson in quite awhile and holyfield has really fallen off...especially after losing to a guy who got beaten with JUST A JAB from wlad...) and thats what casual fans want to see...knockouts...
who better to provide a knockout that two of the last of the (what many hardcore boxing fans call) "true heavyweights"?
you more than likely wont see a knockout or stoppage for Mayweather v. de la hoya II...instead you will see a skillful/tactical chess match...
with tyson v. holyfield you will see what the casual fans want...big names...knockdowns/knockouts...
so i think they win as well.Comment

Tyson couldn't get a boxing license in the three main states (New Jersey, New York, Nevada) for the Lewis fight so I highly doubt Tyson could fight there again because of the time he's had away from the ring.Comment
