The article on Setanta is mistaken - according to Williams himself, Cole is not the opponent.

He says he's going to be fighting journeyman Marcus McGee (20-15) on Saturday.

Williams weighed in at 258 pounds. Not bad.
I still think the 228 against Gammer is a mistake. I doubt he weighed that less. It was 3 months after his fight with Harrison where he weighed 267. I doubt he lost that much weight in a short period of time. In his next and last fight against Platov he weighed 270 again.

No, it's Marcus McGee he'll be fighting tonight.

Common!! Williams is a nice guy! I like him! The fight against Platov was verry entertaining, dont know if you have seen it! Williams fights are often entertaining, even though when hes the guy who loses.

Al Cole was ready willing and very able to fight Danny Williams. He was at my house looking at tapes of Danny Williams. Al went to Florida and was informed in mid week that he would not be on the card. For all the disrespect other writers on this wrote this site about Al Cole. Why did Danny suddenly opt to fight a far less qualified foe in Marcus McGee? Al is still waiting to hear from Danny. Al can be reached thru me

Williams flew over to Florida on Tuesday having taken the fight on short notice but is expected to have too much for Cole, who has become a journeyman heavyweight contender.

'The Brixton Bomber' is excited at the prospect of fighting in front of the large American audience that will be tuning in to see Woods' fight, as well as Chad Dawson's WBC light heavyweight defence against Glen Johnson.

"I'm raring to go and can't wait to get in the ring on Saturday," Williams said. "There's a lot more to see of Danny Williams."

Cole, 44, held the IBF cruiserweight title for three years from 1992 before stepping up to heavyweight where he has had little success. In his last fight he was stopped in three rounds by Sultan Ibragimov in 2005.

This fight could lead to a third fight for Williams against Audley Harrison, who makes his return a week later on the undercard of Joe Calzaghe-Bernard Hopkins.

Williams became the first man to beat the 2000 Olympic gold medallist when they first met in 2005, before Harrison stopped him in three rounds in the rematch the following year.

Harrison went on to lose his next bout to Michael Sprott and has been inactive since then.
