    Was Chavez-Taylor A Good Call?

There was some debate about the Steele's stoppage of the fight in another thread. I thought I'd add a poll for people to vote in.

Huge ****in ripoff. I don't believe DK bought off Steele or anything like that but the guy ****ed up big time. Taylor had that fight won and has to live with a loss he shouldn't have forever cuz of a ref who has never taken a ****in punch in his life. Even if Taylor was losing on the cards, you only stop a fighter who gets up groggy to keep him from takin further abuse and gettin hurt, not just cuz he's groggy. How much more damage could JCC have inflicted in a couple of seconds? He had just enough time to walk across the ring and get close to Taylor. That decision and its aftermath (regarding Taylor) are ****ed up.

the ref doesnt know the exact time left in a bout. neither do the fighters. If the ref counts to 10 and you don't respond then the bout is over plain and simple. Steel counted to 10 and taylor didnt know what the **** was going on. Doesnt matter how much time is left if you get knoced out and cant answer the ten count then your out done knocked out you lose the fight. there is no bending the rules for anyone. Taylor took some serious damage in that fight. I feel bad for who his life has turned out. But you cant answer question that stoppage. If you cant respond to the ref and answer the ten count then you have been knocked out.

You seem to be under the impression that Taylor didn't beat the ten count. He beat it easily. What he got was a mandatory eight count. And those bright red lights in all four corners surely made the ref aware that there was less than 10 seconds left in the fight.

meldrick taylor is a philly boy. And there was only 2 seconds left in that fight, **** was robbery. No way in hell could chavez kill or drop him in that amount of time.

Awful call. Taylor was the better man that night and deserved to see the end of the fight. The sad thing is the people who get mad at Chavez over this when he had nothing to do with it.

                  Steele ****ed up big time.
