I'm glad he did. Otherwise he might have been known as Death Steele....

IM sure he heard him how cant you he's right in front of you. And who looks at their trainers when they get knocked down lmao. taylor didn't know what was going on he was out! If this was in the middle of the round then you wouldn't be saying **** you would say it was a good stoppage taylor was badly hurt and out on his feet which is very obvious. but since it was 5 seconds before the bell rang it's a horrible call but im sorrry why should rules be bent again for a fighter???? steele asked him if he was ok more then once taylor couldnt respond and didnt respond fight over. why is this an argument again? oh because you wanted the rules bent. they should add that to the rules then. "no matter how hurt a fighter is if you as a fighter cant answer the ref and dont give any sign that know what the **** you doing we willl let it slide if its under 5 seconds of the round"

What exactly is the rule that you think would be bent? The only rule is that the referee can stop a fight anytime he wants. The rest is all judgement, and to stop a fight with a few seconds left is poor judgement, at least in this case.

Everybody that claimed this was a good stoppage seem to be avoiding the question of if this had been Chavez would the fight had been stopped???

Taylor to me was clear headed, he seem to have been listening/Looking at his corner for instruction (As you do when you get KD), He was in his corner calm..I have seen hundreds of fighter that doesnt respond to the referee after a KD but are still allow to carry on fighting just because they got up from a KD...This was a disgraceful stoppage, No wonder Chavez was alway involve in one controversy or another.

I cannot see it makes any difference if the fighter is a dago, ***, mex, black, yellow etc. And I dont wanna add to any unproven Don King conspiracy-theories.

It's up to the referees discretion to make the stoppage call within a split second with the adrenaline flowing. Steele made the call and he was THE top ref. at the time.

I would rather have 100 early stoppages than 1 late.

It's kind of just tough titty Walter Nitty.

Because it just so happens Steele stopped the fight with that little amount of time left. lol Steele as Mechslave put has no obligation to assist a fighter in any situation like that unless it's protecting his safety.

something he clearly did because Taylor was dead.

Sorry. I thought you pulled the race-card. Sorry I misunderstood.

I think (and hope) that the stoppage would have been made regardless of the fighters name or pedigree. But that's always an opinion. One cannot be certain and maybe I am naive or a hopeless romantic, but I believe in the same justice for all.
